Origin Story
Growing up in a small military town in southern Arizona, Elisa had limited exposure to diverse aesthetics. Her passion for design ignited during teenage travels, where she explored historic and modern architecture, unique interiors, and international museums. This led her to pursue an interior design degree at Arizona State University. She worked for 8 years in commercial design, working on healthcare, education and government projects. After becoming pregnant with her first son, she started working in furniture sales. Her enthusiasm for residential design grew as she closely engaged with clients to bring their visions to life.
In 2018, while collaborating with other residential firms, Elisa founded SweetSpace. Her mission was to create spaces that tell a story, reflecting the personality and lifestyle of their inhabitants while maintaining a balance between beauty and functionality. The name SweetSpace embodies her commitment to a philanthropic goal: giving foster children personalized spaces where they can feel ownership and autonomy—one project at a time. Since opening the firm, Elisa has had the privilege of transforming numerous homes and commercial spaces, each project a testament to the power of thoughtful design. The journey has been marked by the joy of creating spaces that resonate with clients and the satisfaction of seeing their visions come to life. Apart from the exciting grand reveal, what Elisa cherishes most about the job is the opportunity to establish connections with new individuals regularly.
